Speed Chart

Below you will find each of our ACL Pro models with their speeds. The Average Speed shown as “8/5” is the speed of the bag in normal conditions. This is low humidity, indoors, with AC like you might find at a tournament. Bag speeds are dictated by temperature, humidity, board finish and other factors. Bags are dynamic as well, template variation, force of the throw and angle of impact and angle of the bag at impact will all affect speed. The 1-10 speeds assigned are for bags laying flat on boards and compared to one another. In addition, we provide a speed range for the fast and slow sides of our bags. This is the speed on hot/dry boards and cool/damp boards. The below chart should make comparisons between bags easier.

About Bag Speeds

The 1-10 scale was first introduced by Ultra. For 2026, we have updated all of our bag speeds and cross referenced between bags using the same materials. Cornhole bag speeds are largely about feel and how you throw the bag is going to make as much of a difference in their speed as the temperature and board speeds might. Each Ultra Bag has a unique combination of fabrics that gives the bag the perfect feel for whatever condition you encounter. When the boards are sticky, you should look to a bag with one of our faster materials on one side. If you are playing in dry and fast conditions, you might prefer something with more control offered by a slower Ultra model. Playing the right bag material for the proper conditions will give you an advantage.

Templates

Ultra Bags come in 3 distinct templates or sizes. Each bag is engineered with the template, fabrics, fill type, and fill ratio for specific performance. Our templates are Regular, Mid-Sized, and Small. 

Regular Template:

The vast majority of our bags come in our regular sized template. This is a 5.85″x5.85″ sized bag. It’s just under the standard 6″x6″ size. Our regular template is often referred to as “large”. It is actually slightly smaller than the middle 6″ size and well short of the maximum 6.25″x6.25″ size limit. Our regular template is super hole forgiving and is often credited with catching just a small amount of the hole and dripping in more easily.

Mid-Sized Template:

Our mid-sized bags measure a little smaller at 5.8″x5.8″. This size combines much of the play characteristics of our super forgiving regular template with some of the control and reactiveness of the small template. The majority of our latest models come in this size: compact + hole friendly.

Small Template:

This is the smallest legal template within the ACL’s Rules. Measuring 5.75″x5.75″, this size bag is great for players with smaller hands or who want more action in their bags. The smaller size give bags a little more action on the boards, reacting to tilts and angles better than our regular template. Because of it’s size, bags available in our Small template are not recommended to be broken in with accelerated break-in methods, especially with heat.
